>> Video Tour: PPC Bully
I am not usually this blunt, being a good 'ole southern boy and all, but using PPC Bully to X-Ray your competition to find their successful keywords and ads BEFORE starting your own Adwords campaign is a slam-dunk, no-brainer decision if you plan to make serious money using Google Adwords and PPC (Pay Per Click.)
Why?
Using PPCBully.com to X-Ray Your Competition
Here is what PPCBully.com claims to offer:
"Hire your competitors to work for you... for free!""PPC Bully uncovers your competitors' winning combinations of Keywords, Ads, Landing Pages and even Merchants, enabling you to know up front what works (and what doesn't)"
"You can have a profitable, fully optimized pay per click campaign the minute it launches."
These are the claims made by PPC Bully right up front -- and as basic propositions go, this is about as direct and applicable to PPC success as you can get. If you have ever studied direct marketing, you know that the foundation to success is TESTING. Unfortunately, it is usually with YOUR money.
- You have to decide which products or affiliate programs to promote
- You have to figure out which keywords to use
- You have to decide what kind of ads to write
- You have to decide what type of landing page will convert best
- Then you invest hours, days, weeks, testing, tweaking and ...
- Often you STILL lose your shirt, or just break even
What if you could ERASE that whole process, and START with a proven successful set of keywords, a proven product, specific click-pulling ads, even high converting landing pages? Wouldn't that be THE SMARTEST THING YOU COULD POSSIBLE DO?
In the words of a great marketing philosopher ... "Duh!"
Since I am being so blunt, let's cut right to the chase. This thing is brain-dead simple. You are going to:
- Create a new project
- Enter some keywords
- Sit back and wait for PPC Bully to show you a profit roadmap
- Copy (almost) their success
Yes, it is that easy.
PPCBully.com Website: Digging Deep Inside
Before we look at the specific details of what happens inside, go back and read the four bullet points above. Compared to most pieces of marketing software, this one is quite simple, because it does all of the digging and calculating behind the scenes for you. You literally just plug in your keywords and wait. In fact, waiting is a good thing, because it gives PPC Bully time to dig deeper into the results, and determine whether ads and campaigns are surviving and thriving, or failing miserably. On average, you want to give it at least a week to do its bully thing.
But let's take a look at the specific steps you'll take once you are inside (PPC Bully is an online hosted program available to you 24/7 just by logging in), and examine a demo campaign to learn the exact information you will be getting as competitive intelligence.
The interface is very intuitive, and there really aren't many ways to go wrong. Enter a name for your project, and you are ready for the next big step -- selecting your keywords. The number of keywords you enter for each campaign is up to you. The base monthly Silver subscription includes 500 keywords, and if you are a heavy hitter you may want to opt for the Gold 2000 keyword option.
There is a handy Browse button to import keyword lists from your computer, or you can simply cut-n-paste. PPC Bully will then check Google daily to see what is happening with the ads, keywords, and programs associated with your keywords.
However, you can also choose a project to designate as the "Bully" project, and PPC Bully will check Google up to 24 times per day on that particular set of keywords. If you want to make some quick decisions, this "bullying" tactic is the way to go. You can switch your designated Bully Campaign at any time, and even use it to get more updated snapshots of multiple projects during a 24 hour period.
PPCBully.com Profitability Indicator:
Know When You're In the Money
PPC Bully has created a formula that is used as a screen for every keyword and campaign, the Profitability Indicator. The default value is 7, and as it rises, so does your surety that the campaign you are watching is highly successful.
If you raise the PI level above 7, you will also need to wait a similar number of days to get an accurate reading of the PI level. For example, if you only want PI's of 10 or above, you will need to let PPC Bully run for 10 days to gather the needed information.
The advantage of this approach is clear: Once PPC Bully has completed its scans, you will KNOW which campaigns with YOUR Keywords are successful ... and can then pattern your own ads and landing pages after them.

Examining a PPC Bully Campaign In-Depth
Here we see a demo hotel campaign. It also has the gray "bully dot" beside it, letting us know it is the campaign getting the most scrutiny at the moment. The layout on each screen is quite intuitive, and it is also easy to back out of any page you might find yourself on without weird things happening to the code (as some database-driven sites are prone to do.)
When we click on the Hotels link, it brings us to the keywords being tracked as part of this campaign.
There are 22 keywords being tracked inside this campaign, and we see six of them here, all variations of campaigns in US cities--they are rank-ordered top to bottom based on their Profitability Ranking. Where we might have guessed before about which city would be the most profitable, we now see that "Hilton Head" has been the most profitable targeted keyword.
Clicking on "Hilton Head" brings us to the actual advertisements used with "hilton head" as a keyword, each with a PI rating. While each one contains a mention of "Hilton Head," the top ad produced the greatest results -- "Photo Beach Portraits" with a 216 PI rating. This is a great example of copywriting creativity, as portraits are not necessarily the first thing one would think of when promoting a city ... and it also reminds us that LOCALIZING larger markets may be a good way to siphon off some profit from a tougher large market. If we are smart, we are continually looking for patterns within these successes to use in other campaigns and markets. PPC Bully is as much an educational tool as a profit-making one.
Let's dive down deeper. The third best ad, "Hilton Head Vacations," actually used three versions of their ad, with this one showing the best result with a PI of 181. What did the rest look like? Why did they not succeed as well? Let's find out.
The PI ranges from 181 at the top to 77 at the bottom, and when we compare the top and bottom ads we can see distinct differences that may account for the varied response rates. Now this level of testing on YOUR dime could take a LOT of time, money, and effort creating varied ad groups -- but PPC Bully shortcuts all of this useless waste of time and money by heading straight for success.
Of course, PPC Bully doesn't stop here. It can even show you the specific Clickbank, CPA, or other affiliate marketing program being used in each campaign, with a direct link to the landing page for each one. This is a cash goldmine, because designing landing pages can take hours of hit-or-miss effort that only testing can prove out.
With direct links to hot-converting landing pages, you can go right to the source and learn how to design pages that fill your bank account.
I hope you are starting to see the power of PPC Bully. It simply leapfrogs over all the normal time and money-wasting testing phase and jumps directly to the successful campaign phase ... all in a matter of days.
I've only covered a small portion of the filters, reports, and strategies included with PPC Bully. For example, it also includes a very clear scatter graph that shows with deadly accuracy when a campaign stabilizes on a particular keyword rank position within Google Adwords and other marketing platforms. Experienced PPC marketers know that bidding for the top spot is not necessarily the best way to spend your money. PPC Bully shows EXACTLY which spot ... #3 ... #5 ... #8 .... produce the best return on your bidding dollar.
Pros & Cons of PPC Bully
Normally, this is a much tougher section to write. It is easy when a product has so few weaknesses ... but lets start with the cons.
PRICE
First, if you are just playing around in internet marketing then $49 a month might scare you off. It is definitely a substantial investment. On the other hand, if you don't intend to make MUCH more than $50 a month in profits, then PPCBully is probably not for you, anyway. If you are planning to jump into Adwords campaigning without this kind of competitive intelligence, then you can (literally) lose more than $50 a DAY just through trial and error .. and still be no better off because all you know is your campaign DIDN'T work ... but you don't know WHY. So we'll give PPC Bully a 4 Star rating for PRICE, but only because it requires commitment. From a value standpoint, PPC Bully sets a high standard.
SUPPORT
Support at PPC Bully is solid. However, they still have relatively little support materials or detailed FAQ's. On the other hand, the program is so intuitive and simple to use that it really takes little explaining. However, you do need to have a little prior basic knowledge about how to put together a Google Adwords campaign. They do share some a few videos from training webinars they have done, however. On this basis we rate SUPPORT 4 stars -- but nothing to be concerned about.

EASE OF USE
With PPC Bully you know both WHAT your competition is doing, and HOW they are doing it. The educational side benefit to PPC Bully is not to be underestimated. The tool itself is gorgeously simple ... in fact, I found myself comparing it to an Apple Macintosh .... so easy to use when you take it out of the box that you rarely even have to read the manual to be functional with it. PPC Bully is just that easy to use. Because of this, it is particularly powerful for PPC beginners. If I had to make one single suggestion for ANY beginner beyond some basic reading on Google's own website about how to run PPC campaigns, using PPC Bully would be the #1 step to take to geometrically increase the chances of success in an increasingly tough Adwords market. For EASE OF USE, PPC Bully rates 5 stars.
Considering all of the Pros and Cons, it is rare that I have found a product of any sort with so few negatives. PPC Bully does exactly what it says, easily. It is not hard to use. It is a great value for any half-way serious PPC marketer. And it magnifies your chances of success over typical trial-and-error methods many times over. The PROS & CONS scale tips waaaaay over towards the Pro side with PPC Bully, at 5 stars.
Are you a PPC "natural"?
Like artists, there are a rare few who are "naturals", intuitive geniuses, like Michelangelo and Picasso. The rest of the artists, while quite competent and sometimes even brilliant, have to work much harder to hone their craft.
There are a few PPC geniuses out there, who just seem to have a knack for finding the right ad and keyword combination. The rest of us, well -- we can succeed, but we need some help. For the many marketers who pursue PPC part-time, efficiency of both time and money is even more crucial. We can't afford to make the same mistakes as PPC Geniuses. One too many errors and we could be out of the game for good.
PPC Bully works so well that it is almost an unfair advantage. In the ever-increasing meat-grinder that Google Adwords is becoming, you need something on your side. You need a bully to shove Google around for you. PPC Bully.
Don't get pushed around by Google. Do some pushing yourself. Get the Bully!
